Switchboard Thermal Imaging
Why It MattersElectrical Switchboard Thermal Imaging Benefits
A thermal imaging scan of your switchboard is one of the best available methods of preventing equipment failure and they are becoming mandatory in some insurance policies.
Thermal imaging is conducted during normal operating conditions, so there is no loss of power or interruption to your workflow. The camera looks for hot spots which are usually caused by electrical resistance or excessive friction. Underlying problems can then be diagnosed. Some examples include:
- Loose connections
- Faulty fuses or circuit breakers
- Damaged switches
- Overloading
Benefits for your business include:Â
- Increased workplace safety
- Reduced likelihood of a fire
- Less chance of equipment downtime and lost profits
