Rebates explained
Australia has a federal scheme that effectively discounts the cost of installing solar. It's the most common question we get, and the most commonly misunderstood part of going solar.
Here's what you need to know.
Small-scale Technology Certificates are issued for every accredited solar install, based on system size and how long the system's expected to generate power. The scheme runs until 2030 and gradually reduces each year.
You don't claim STCs yourself or wait for a cheque. We take the discount straight off the system price upfront, so the price you see already has the rebate built in.
Simmark is an accredited STC trader. We register your system, generate the certificates and apply the rebate to your quote. You don't fill in any forms, and you don't deal with the scheme administrator.
The actual rebate value depends on your system size and the STC market price at the time you install. Your estimator will show you the exact figure on your quote, no maths required.
