Simmark is proud to be supporting Sustainable Southern Highlands Inaugural Golf Day that will be held on Sunday 4th of March at Moss Vale Golf Club. The event supporting the non for profit community group, will raise funds to increase renewable energy education in schools across the Southern Highlands.

A highlight of the day will be the battle for the “Hole in One” prize a Tesla Powerwall, that has been donated by Simmark, Southern Highlands. The prize, valued at $12,000, and has generated lot of interest in the event sending a powerful message supporting the sustainability goals of the Sustainable Southern Highlands.

The golf day is aiming to raise enough funds to run a “The Renewable Challenge” in secondary schools across the Southern Highlands. The challenge will see students design a community based renewable energy power system, based on a existing Highlands village of their choice.  As part of the competition secondary students will estimate the demand for power and then designing a renewable energy system to meet the needs of the chosen community. The winning entry as determined by a team of local experts will WIN a 5 Kw solar system and Tesla Powerwall battery fully installed for their school valued at $20,000.
Money will also be raised for other projects across the Highlands including the repair of the water tank at Kangaloon Primary School.
Sustainable Southern Highlands is a non-profit community association aiming to fund sustainable projects in local primary and secondary schools.
